Reflection

Image result for a picture of a better meWhen I realized English was a required course for college, even though English was not my major I was petrified! I have never recieved a bad  grade in any previous englsih classes , but lets just say English was not my cup of tea. I used to wonder what kind of person would want to read a billion essays a day?! I just didn't get the point of basically being forced to write about multiple topics that yI was never intrested in. I always like my English teachers as a person, but it's the class itself that simply doesn't interest me. I was never the student that would get up and speak first, I always assumed my papers were just average and it was nothing better than the rest.
This semester I learned to actually enjoy English class! First of all Dr. Kyburz has honestly been one of the best teachers I've had. I actually learned that it's not so bad to go first, in fact you get it over with faster that way! I learned that peer review really does make a difference. We actually got to write the exploratory paper based on something that interests us, we weren't forced to write about something we could care less about. During this essay I built a skill that I didn't know I could- I could write a INFORMAL research paper. The thing is, it flowed together and I didn't even know that was possible. The multimodal was probably one of the hardest things I had to write, granted it was only one page. For this paper I developed a skill most English teachers don't really focus on, and that was basically building curiosity for the reader and almost being persuasive yet, having a neutral tone. Overall, in this CW1 class, I was able to learn that the more revision, the better. I could actually see the difference between my first draft in the documentary summamry (https://docs.google.com/document/d/16R8nM6ePV0lwAuirsKaIdl6TRX7-d-7IT9_Ur85BvAw/edit) and my final documentary summary (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DMziU6ODmXqOlNILe1J-_EOEcPjGlAO1oODk5wgSnDU/edit). I also learned many skills that I know will help me improve my writing.
